I say go for them, u will make that back with your current wheels. I did. & the tires u can save for the correct ones they are easy to find as still made. U said yourself you are struggling to find the wheels.... I payed around $480 for mine plus I just got the spare & tire Wich would take it to $500ish. You got a bargain if u get them.

Thanks for the input! I called the guy, and got him to know $50 off, so all together $550, and I'll sell my old American Racing rims and tires for $200-$300. Not bad.

I dont think i would do that. You can buy used tires that size for about $30 a piece. Lets say you got the tires for $40 a piece used. Add that to the price of the rims that is to much. You can get a set of 5 rims for less than a $100. Then buy used tires and you will be around $400 max. Im sure there are used tire places close to you. Also dont forget about buying retreads. They run much cheaper and you can get some BFG's.

I say paint comes first and keep looking for a set of 5 ugly ones for around $100. After a media blasting they will look great with some red paint. That $500 can go a long ways on other things.

I quick update: I ended up getting the movie accurate wheels with Mickey Thompson Tires paid $550. I sold my old rims and tires for $550. I bought the Delta 100 fog lights from hummerpartsclub.com. These guys are great to work with. http://www.hummerpartsclub.com/mm5/merc ... ighting_H2

I also got a pair of amber rear lights that my girlfriend found on Etsy. Sounds weird, but someone was selling these lights that looked REALLY similar to the KC 46 Series. I got them for $22.00, and the when I received them, I found out that they were made by KMC and are EXTREMELY similar to the KC 46 Series. I'm wondering if KC made these same basic lights for sale by K-Mart. While not exact, it's pretty darn close.

Nice find! You didn't happen to get a clear lens with those that you would be willing to part with, did you?

I wish that I had, but I did not :( They came with the original packaging, and according to the "what's in the box" list, they only came with the amber lenses.

I'm afraid not. The packaging says that they are from 1988...
