Don't tempt me. My dream is to take my jeep up the Pacific Coastal Highway. Though at the same time, driving that thing on the freeway for more than an hour at a time is truly uncomfortable. Maybe I can trailer it behind the Ecto, manage to get 5mpg or something. Yeesh.

Re: my jurassic park jeep
I totally know where you're coming from
there are so many places that I want to go too and drive there with the top down
but then after a while when you're suffering from sunstroke and windburn and you can hardly hear anything and your throat is sore from yelling while trying to carry on a conversation with your passengers, you begin to wonder if it's worth it
then i think to myself that it totally is

A little sun and wind never killed anybody, though I never have a problem with that when I take the top off my jeep, I'm still trying to find one and having no luck, you guys are lucky. lol

Re: my jurassic park jeep
I dont really mind it
its just a totally different driving experience than most people are used to
I have had some passengers that dont find the experience as enlightening as I do

Re: my jurassic park jeep
It's not the wind and sun, it's the time in each involved. I frequently take my jeep up into the mountains or up 25 to Fort Collins, topless or doorless, and there's a specific feeling you get after being in one for prolonged periods. I liken it to having your face slapped with rolled-up hand towels for hours on end; it doesn't necessarily hurt, but have this sort of 'tired' feeling. Having the top up is a different story, usually much more comfortable, though much noisier. Also the lack of cruise control, A/C, or the ability to top 80mph would make a trip of more than 4 hours really, really rough.

I'm still in the camp that states the majority of "canon" items have yet to be found, so I say leave 'em. Maybe hit them with some yellow spray praint and invert the mounting so their are closer to the tail lights, but otherwise it looks great!
