Not exactly a Pterodactyl, but another recent prop I built

I also brought this 25 foot long armored dragon and rider to the Cincy Expo, which was just completed in time. It is actually a one person, walking costume. The rider's legs are actually the dragon's, and on stilts dry wall stilts built into the dragon's legs. The dragon's head is moved side to side with the reigns, and can be raised by a hidden pully system.

All of the armor is real steel, and authentic replicas of actual 15th century German 'Gothic' armor. The dragon will also be able to spew fire and smoke. I hope to have it lead the Dragon Con parade in Atlanta GA next year.

I also had the full sized Dewback there in the Star Wars section. So if any of you were at the Expo, and missed me at the Jurassic Park booth, it was becasue I was also at the dragon and dewback displays, as well as walking around as 'Bossk'.

No video yet, but wish we did while it was together and on display. Just too much was going on with me trying to set up three big displays. I will definately make some video next time it is set up. There should be a lot of video taken when it leads the dragon con parage next year.

The first ten or so neck plates are real steel and used for jousting on a horse with the rest of the main armor. The rest were vacuformed off an original and painted to match the steel ones since the dragon's neck is a lot longer than a horse. Yes, its damn heavy, and hard to raise the neck, but there are pulleys to help.
