Interesting flashlight spotted in the movie Congo.

Is it possible this is an actual light, and not one that is modified? Its interesting that they would modify them the exact same way as they did for Jurassic Park...

These are definitely also Underwater Kinetic lights too.

(Another possibility is that they just got them from a prop warehouse that had modified a large number of them and rented them out for productions).

I'm not sure why, but I was under the impression the black shroud around the lens was rubber that is removable. I havn't seen a UK in person, so I don't know for sure. They are getting some high prices on ebay though...

The rubber part is removable, and that reveals the first part of the clear plastic.

The modification (presumably) is that another piece of smooth clear plastic is added, and the bulb is moved forward.

I just thought it was interesting that they are using the exact same flashlight. With the same modification.. (albeit yellow instead of black).

What if they modded it with another reflector in front of the standard bulb to cut down on lens flare? Would make sense why they did more than one, and it's similar to what they did with Nedry's jeep headlights.

A few more shots of the Congo one. You can practically read the model number on the side. I wonder if that says UK1200.

The more I look at the photos and compare it to my own UK1200, I'm pretty sure it is just a 2" - 3" long piece of plastic, 3.5" ID. The flashlight necks down at the end and is exactly 3.5". I just wished I could see what that reflector is in there.

Hey Cyrix9445, first off I wanted to say I love everything you have done for this community!!! Keep up the great work!
But I also had a couple of the same questions, what cord did you use, and what's going on with the reflector/light moved forward? No one has any answers online and I can't seem to find any close up pictures of what is going on inside the clear cover, I still have some work to go on mine, I need to paint it black and I couldn't find the exact cord yet, but any help would be really appreciated!
