Holy CRAP!

I tried forever to source that thing, even the flashlight forum gurus couldn't figure it out. Is it some sort of diving light?

Yea, it's a diving light made my Underwater Kinetics. I forget the exact model number, it was UK something, I bought it like two years ago, and started the modifications, but had a hard time sourcing the plastic shroud. I do remember the kit that I bought was called "Lobster Special" I think it came with a red lens if I remember right. I remember seeing them in different colors like blue, but I managed to find this black one.

Underwater Kinetics UK1200.

What modifications do you need to do to get the clear lens?

Yeaaaa that was it.

There' are a couple on ebay right now

Black

Blue

I dont think they make them anymore, but I do remember they aren't terribly rare. Mine was even new in box.

For the shroud I used a beanie baby display cylinder lol It was the only 4" durable cylinder I could find. I had to cut it down, tape it off and sand the bottom portion to "frost" it.

Ahh. I was just hoping you pulled the rubber off the end and that revealed the clear cover or something.

I'm hoping to get that black one on eBay. I submitted a best offer this morning, so hopefully I get it before someone else does!

That rubber piece does just come off and it is clear underneath, but they added that additional clear shroud over top of it and moved the bulb outward with another reflector... you'll see what I'm talking about when you get it.

what is the cord you used, and how did you attach it? Looks kinda like an old school stereo headphone cable.

Cyrix9445,
What did you use/do to bring the bulb and reflector out from it's original location? Is it a new type of bulb you used? It's hard to tell in your pictures. The flashlight looks great!
Are you still simply using the 9volt lantern battery for power?
