Wow, been over a year. Well, she's still in progress. During all the lockdown craziness of last year I got the suspension sorted out, the fogs restored and working, front tow brackets and light bar brackets made, wheels were purchased, have been cleaned and scuffed and am waiting for drier weather to paint them.

At the same time I've been working on this, I fell into another project that will be built alongside. I got a 1983 Honda GL650i motorcycle from a guy for $50. So I decided that it need to be JP too. Wheels will get the same red as the Jeep's, frame and tins will all get sprayed gold to match and graphics will be added. Working on the seat pan currently so I can get it over to the upholstery shop that is going to make a seat that matches the green interior.

Speaking of interior, anyone happen to have a spare inside pull handle? Some ***** kid from the highschool next door decided it would be funny to rip the one off my passenger side.

Don't know why silverwings and goldwings are often sold cheap. Really nice & reliable street sofas.
Asterisk kids are the worst.

Re: JP 40 - In Progress, We have Stripes!

Post by Nightfall » July 19th, 2022, 2:51 pm

So yeah, Finally got the stripes painted. Have the door decals to put on (and the fender "Jeep" decals). I have the new hood hardware to put on and the front tow hooks to weld and paint, it's just 108º here so I'm waiting for it to cool off some. Then I need to get the winch plate and get the wheels painted and get some tires. Anyway, here is JP40 -

There's a couple little rusty places, but no worries. I've treated all the places with an inhibitor to stop the spread till I have the space cleared in my shop to do a proper tear down and do all the repair. At some pint in the future it'll get taken down and I'll be doing a frame off restoration and repaint.
