Phoenix JP42

Post by Target1992 » August 31st, 2013, 6:03 pm

Tuesday I will be going in for a job interview, depending on how it goes I might start the acquisition phase that day. I have a good amount of stuff to get and it will cost a pretty penny, and certainly more then the Army pays for me being in the Reserves (oh how I miss overseas pay). I am waiting to number until I know which numbers are in use in the Phoenix area. If you happen to know a better place to get the parts at a cheaper price, then please throw me a bone.

Base Vehicle: '94 Wrangler Sahara purchased for $7000 original upholstery, mostly original parts.
($180 replace bad Catalytic Converter)

Light bar $87.95 http://www.cassidyscustom.com/accessories.html

Fog Lights and Brackets $182.92 http://www.partswebsite.com/jeepcarpart ... ecallout=2

Whip Antenna Assembly:
102" Stainless steel whip antenna $27.99 http://www.radioshack.com/product/index ... Id=2102428
Barrel whip antenna spring $11.44 http://www.amazon.com/ProComm-JBC305-He ... ip+antenna
Ball joint antenna mount base $24.99 http://www.radioshack.com/product/index ... cale=en_US

Jurassic Park custom license plate $20 http://www.ebay.com/itm/Jurassic-Park-2 ... 3f&vxp=mtr

Jurassic Park door decals 44.99 http://www.ebay.com/itm/2-Pack-Jurassic ... 46&vxp=mtr

Paint:*
27055 Sand Beige Poly (Low Gloss) $???
Satin Red $???
Clear Coat $???

* Need help for good place and price of paint

As of right now cost of materials before paint is approximately $7492 I am certain there are other odds and ends missing then please post as I am certain I am missing plenty. Also any wisdom/experience you can provide will be appreciated, and I am eagerly anticipating getting started.

There are lots of builder threads, but also the threads on the construction forum can answer lots of questions. Good luck, and welcome to the madness. For paint dupont and PPG want in the neighborhood of $500 for a gallon, but restoration shop sells their own brand of paint that many ppl have used with good results for somewhere around $150 a gallon. (http://www.tcpglobal.com/restorationshop/) It is one of the one stage paints but I can't recall laquer, eurathane, or enamel.

Cassidy's Custom doesn't make the light bar anymore. I was finally able to get the guy on the phone and he said he'd call me about one and never did.

No winch? That will cost a pretty penny too. They are hard to find but you can go with an 8000 one instead of the correct 6000 model. I am still looking for one myself.

Not a big fan of the winch, I am thinking I am going to go with a number 18 style jeep.

That is just the jeep I am copying I am undecided as to the number, do you happen to know if 01 is open, and out of curiosity how do you know which jeeps are in AZ it is not on the google docs list.

I've been keeping track of JP jeeps near my area. Some are members of my group, others have been spotted but not contacted yet.

There is no 01 in AZ that I know of, but there is one in CA

Eh far enough away, I am not likely to run into him, another number I could do which would be a fun little reference would be 42

Ordered my first item, will post a picture of what it is when it arrives, also found a jeep salvage place in Phoenix that claims to have YJ parts, swinging by there tomorrow after my job interview hopefully they will have what I need.
