So I picked this up this morning. 1995 Wrangler Sahara. Came with the original hard top (as shown), original soft top (which has only been used for the past 2 years), set of 4 American Racing wheels, and 4 original wheels. Car has about 160k miles, and about 70k on a remanufactured Jasper motor. The interior is MINT. I'm really glad I upped my budget and patience and waited for this one. Yea it has a few issues and typical rust spots, but the frame is solid. The previous owner had it for a few years and did all the mods, and for the 16 or so years before that it was his sister's Jeep. They kept ALL their paperwork that I will need to go through to see what they've done and when.

Only things that NEED to be done are a bent front passenger spring, fix a leaky seal in the same area, and recharge the AC (yea I'm pretty stoked it has air). Aside from that it's mostly cosmetic stuff. Oh and I still need to register it. I wasn't going to stand in line at the DMV on a Saturday, I'll go when they open at 7:30 Tuesday morning.

As far as what needs to be done to make it a JP Jeep, I haven't completely decided how screen accurate I'm going for. I know for sure it won't be 100% as I will have to spare some expenses.

Excellent. I'm amazed at how well hard tops preserve interiors. I may be crazy to take mine off.

I did pull the carpet up in front of the drivers seat and could see the ground through a tiny hole, but that's something I can look into down the line. I don't think I'm in any danger of putting a foot through it or anything right now

It's killing me that I didn't register the truck on Saturday. The DMV is closed Sundays and Mondays here in CT (and at 12:30 on Saturdays). I waited this long.. what's another couple days. Today I PB blasted the bolts to get the leaf spring off, and will attempt to replace it tomorrow. I hope my jack stands are tall enough to get under the frame.

I'm not going for 100% screen accurate, as 99% of the people out there probably wouldn't care it was lifted or had an aftermarket bumper, etc. But what is everyone's thoughts on keeping it this way? There's a lot I would need to change, like the lights, wheels, tires, bumper, 4" lift, winch....

I dont mind the lift and bumper. if your not going to 100% screen accuate then keep them if you like them. All i would do is the correct wheeels, steps and paint. have fun whatever you decide.

Noone has even mentioned the light bar.. what a find.... If you are going not screen accurate.. then the choices are up to you. The front bumper is a bit too much in my opinion, but I've never liked those huge bumpers, so that is personnal preference.

Working on replacing the front passenger spring. Starting Saturday I was hitting the bolts I would need to take out with PB blaster, then when I moved wrangler to the driveway yesterday I ran over my only can of PB . Luckily (and VERY surprisingly), all the nuts came out without any problems at all. The biggest problem was relieving the tension on the spring and stabilizer bar. Overall, disassembly was pretty straight forward once I found the right height to jack the axle. So far I've spent more time on attempting to get the new spring in with nothing to show for it. When I put tension on the spring to mate it to the axle it drifts a little to the passenger side and the u-bolts don't line up correct. It was pretty frustrating. It doesn't help my 12 year old jack is leaking hydraulic fluid. The DMV opens in just over an hour so I'm going to get plates and on my way back a bottle jack (or two) to help move suspension parts around under there.

Is that the correct light bar? I'm in no rush to get this thing completed, so I'll probably just bomb around in the Jeep as is for a few months and see if my feelings about these parts change. I wasn't too crazy about the bumper at first but I think it may be starting to grow on me... we'll see how I feel later
