There is literally a whole guide book on it.

Check it out: http://www.ppg.com/coatings/refinish/en ... t_care.pdf
don't be scared....

had my matte finish on for almost 2 years now and it is easier to take care of than regular paint.
It rarely needs washing as it shows almost no dirt. I also have been keeping it outside since i have a Knight Rider project in my garage now. Still no differnce in how it looks sitting outside. It actually stays really clean just by the rain
I love it

Interesting. For some reason, I thought you used the LJ1 paint from PPG, not a matte paint. I will have to read through your build thread again for the 1000th time lol.

If you did use matte, where did you get it from? I really love the color of your Jeep. The red doesn't look matte though, it's too glossy.

Sorry it's flattened but i had to add flex agent to the red so it would flex on all the plastic and it made it a bit shinier
But it is a flat finish that cleans real well

Wondering where I've been?

Post by AdamT » September 7th, 2013, 9:18 am

Hey guys,
I feel bad that I kind of fell of the face of earth. Thank you all for the compliments! Currently, I am studying at Michigan State University and I'm a 10 hour drive from home. Since it was so long, it seemed wise to bring my daily driver over the 20 year old Jeep. So I will be driving it on Thanksgiving break and Winter break, then all my other breaks! BUT DONT WORRY! I have brought a piece of home with me! Still waiting on a few things (brochure, clapper board, my jeep license plate, picture of my jeep). All next to my desk.

You and I both need some BFG All Terrains dude. I'm waiting for somebody to put them on sale but no luck yet. Junkyard always seems to be a bust on those things too.

if discount tire has a sale (rebate) on "best rated tires" then these qualify. You can call and ask if the deal is going on, sometimes they advertise it sometimes its available and not advertised.

Get some quotes from the "big boys" discount tire/sears/etc.. then go to a mom and pop and see if they can beat the deal.
