N.H. Jeep #06
Re: N.H. Jeep #06
I left the parts store once without latching them, I found out real quick there not just for looks
WE GOT DODSON, WE GOT DODSON HERE!
Re: N.H. Jeep #06
Got a deal on eBay on 4 Jabasco lights. $150 each.
That's almost the lowest I've seen them go for new—and it's a set to boot.
I think all I have left to find is the winch!
Still need to switch out a few parts on the Jeep for correctness (rims, mirrors, fogs) but those parts are easily available. I'll also probably change out the left and right (long) body panel. They aren't horrible for the age, but there's some metal missing in the corners by the running boards.

Well, still waiting for the snow to go, meanwhile I've been doing other things.

Had a 1-owner Jeep fall into my lap tonight. 1994 with 78K-original miles, summer driven only, light surface rust on the frame, straight body, correct front fogs, and best of all, interior is in like-new condition! $5K. Going to pull a few items off my current jeep and use the new one.

Ha! I knew someone would say that.COBrian wrote:nice! pics or it didn't happen
It's not in my possession yet, supposed to pick it up in the next day or 2 when the seller is free. The hard top was in their basement and her husband wasn't home to help me move it. But barring something happening--which is my luck lately--here are the highlights.
Top is a Best Top. I guess they don't have the original anymore. And I still need the correct inner door panels for the half doors.
Probably sell my current jeep in the next few weeks. I know I have some local JP'ers looking for one, so I might throw it up on the For Sale area before posting it. It's not awful, just not right for me.

Annnnnnnnd it's home.
So, the plan now is to do a couple things to the previous donor car to make it more sellable and flip it. At the price I paid for the first car, I'm sure I won't have it for long. I'd have preferred a '92 and a stick...but I can't have everything. Car was all of 8 miles from me. And, oddly enough, it still smells new! (|)_(|)

Registered, inspected, and ready to go. But, if I'm going to restart, I don't think there's a better way to do it.
So I've driven the new #6 a few times now and...WOW. It drives new. Had to remove the window tint to comply with state laws (and discovered along the way the pass side mirror's paint was being held on by nothing) but she's up and moving.
Show next month I'm considering driving to as-is if they have a Survivor category, but barring that, I'm ready to get started.
On a side note, during the inspections I was able to get a look at the underside. Mild surface rust on the suspension and frame—nothing a wire brush and some Por-15 can't handle. The underbody itself was spotless.
