This post blows my fucking mind. It's beautiful man! Congrats! Still can't believe how fast this complete overhaul was built. I'm thinking about doing the winch remote plug like that as well. Sleek

Thanks, this has been my favorite project so far. The scavenger hunt for all the right parts was fun and exciting, and kept me busy.

As this build finished the rains moved in, so I had to throw the old dirty soft top on yesterday. We also took it for the first ride and filled the tank.

My bad, those are clear stickers with black writing that say "new 5 year warranty" you can kinda see the one peeling up, I forgot to take them off, LOL

Well, I've finally had enough of the steering gear box being junk and I'm replacing it. I've tried adjusting the old box and it still has a hard point in the center that makes it hard to drive down the road. During the change out, the return hose broke off the old box and broke off the reservoir. Im going to change the whole system out with a newer style power steering pump with reservoir from and XJ, return and pressure lines from a TJ and a YJ remanufactured gear box. Waiting on the hoses to get in tomorrow morning...

So that pump in the pic up there ^ was a 2000 XJ style, it had a different belt depth and didn't work, got a pump and res from a 93XJ and it was perfect. Bought new pressure and return hoses for a 2000 TJ and they fit perfect from the gear box to the pump/res (only 2 hoses needed vs the 3 original on the YJ). Got everything together and its better than ever, been cruising around the past few days at 70 degrees :)
