just curious what the shop is charging you? did you help layout your lines or are you letting them do it?

Again, it's a family friend so we put a deposit in of $1,500 and then said a prayer and gave him free reign. He should be hooking us up with a deal though. The taping layout of the stripes was all done by them. The paint guy works in a movie car garage so I trust that it will turn out pretty good.
Sorry if that's not helpful.
Thanks,
Adam

Practically done!

Post by AdamT » August 16th, 2013, 3:48 pm

Just spent the day in the shop with the repair guys to get it done. It will be done tomorrow morning. The two bumpers need repainting. Got the joop jeep stickers and 4.0 sticker on then we left. All that's left is the Ramsey winch, front lights, and the KC HiLItes 46 Series for the back. We have all that and are bolting it on in the morning.

Isn't there like a week of wait needed before placing decals to allow the paint to breath and avoid bubbling?
I remember reading something of that nature somewhere.

No. The paint is fully dried and completely safe to work on. Also, we used soapy water on the area and applied while wet and then squeegee'd it. That avoided bubbling.

Looks awesome man! I really do like that paint finish as well. That is the exact look that I want.

Do you plan on cutting down the light bar at all to make it more accurate?
