Re: weapon lxxxi's jeep 12
Hi guys, before I go ahead and order some USA spec rear lenses could one of you measure the holes on yours so I know they fit. As there is so many differences between ours I just want to be sure. Could I please have the measurement of the gap of the top & bottom screws horizontal & vertical distance. Thanks guys in advance. I'm going for just lens replacement as I've already mounted my ambers & if I have to change back it will be easier to do just the lens.

I've just cut down & sanded the grill on my rear ambers, I left the top peak on as I think this looks kinda cool. I just need to put a stopper on my boot(trunk) stopper so it doesn't hit them when I open it.
Re: weapon lxxxi's jeep 12
So looking at your rear light lens, the US spec one is flush with the black housing.. yours sticks out a bit (1/2" or so?) that may be an issue if you only replace the lens with a US spec one, and how were you planning on dealing with the bulbs? The US spec one has just 2 bulbs, backup, and brake&turn, yours has three backup, brake, and turn.

Ah I hadn't spotted that it sticks out further before, that's why I was wondering if the mounting holes are in the same place?
With the bulb issue I was going to get around by turning the ambers into the turns, but I'm having issues on completing the circuit... I assumed if I just cut the existing wire in the housing and joined the new light to that it would work. Nope it didn't so I'm still thinking on that. I haven't actually checked if the new lights work, even tho they are brand new unused they have been sat around since the 80's. I take it your brake/turn bulb is double element then?

Yes the US spec one has a double element for the brake turn. I would think your proposed wiring should work in theory.... but make sure you have the new ones working first and not really sure if the built in circuit can handle the wattage of the fogs... So if you can put a lower watt bulb in it, you may want to do that.. I dont think you want to blind people with a flashing fog light, when you go to turn. Fogs are a wee bit brighter than traditional turn lights (understatement)
Are those fogs one wire or 2 wire? if one wire make sure the mounting lug is grounded to something (if your light is like the us spec one, there is a metal shield that grounds the whole light to the body through the 3 mounting screws). If 2 wire, make sure you grounded the second wire to one of those body screws.

Ok next step is to test the lights then, really should've thought of that first I was just too excited. The bigger bulb did cross my mind also but I haven't had time to swap them over yet. They are a single wire so I guess that is my answer for grounding them out.
Yeah the uk spec ones have the metal plates, would a wire going from the mounting lug of the new light to the plate work?

Re: weapon lxxxi's jeep 12
Yes that would work. I drilled through the plate, so my lug is bolted to the plate, which should also be suficient.. of course I am currently wiring up the relay and switch so I haevnt tested mine right now either..

Those rear ambers are crazy similar to the KC 46's. Do you have any pictures of them lit-up? I'm wondering if the beam pattern looks the same. Is the bulb mounted the same way as the LE/46's?
