Re: Trying out a JP JK model
I used the BESTOP Element doors and enclosure kit. I also purchased the BESTOP uppers which only come in black for the JK.

Re: Trying out a JP JK model
I found someone on Ebay that sells all the decals: numbers, logo, and one license plate as a kit. He just ask you to provide the number you want pictured. I'm not sure if I follow you about a "screen accurate paint job." That is fairly difficult with the JK body style. The fenders, hood, and area in...

Re: Trying out a JP JK model
My wife and I had fun and took the Jeep up to the mountains for some great photos. This place was a great substitute for the backdrop of Hawaii used in the movie!

Re: Trying out a JP JK model
All, I wanted to post an update on using plasti-dip for the red stripes. It has been nearly a year and that stuff is holding up great. There are small nicks and pits in the paint from the daily use on the roads. That is pretty much unavoidable. Even so, it is nothing a little touch up paint can't fi...

Re: Trying out a JP JK model
Hey All, I now have half doors! I was also ambitious and folded down the front window for one of the pictures. For a JK model, this looks pretty good! :D (on a side note, folding down a JK windshield is extremely difficult and takes more time than its worth. It involved 28 screws/bolts.) IMG_2015041...

Re: Trying out a JP JK model
Thanks everyone! I've seen a few other people on this forum also detail their JK's as well. I believe I'm the first to find a supplier for the spice soft top for this model?? That took quite a bit of hunting on the internet. The door logo is the standard size (four piece) that came with the JP decal...

Re: Trying out a JP JK model
Here it is completed! For a DIY project and despite the vehicle being a JK, I'm actually very pleased with how this turned out.

Re: Trying out a JP JK model
Well, here's my progress so far. Not bad for my first time using Plasti-Dip. :) It's a little rough around the edges (still learning the right time to peel the tape) but I can live with that. This project was never meant to be permanent. I went the do-it-yourself Plasti-Dip approach so if/when the d...

Re: Trying out a JP JK model
So far, I like how the front turned out, and I didn't want to angle that part anymore than I already did. The sharp angles on the screen accurate jeeps look funny on the frame of the new JK in my opinion. Haha, this would be sooo much easier if Jeep didn't change their body style. :? Oh Well.... I d...

Re: Trying out a JP JK model
No, I was going with the angle of the back fender.
